Travel Directions

By car

For the most accurate GPS directions type "Mokshavana" into Google maps or Waze and follow the directions directly to the gate. Alternatively the sat nav postcode is LL40 2DS. Using the post code alone will take you further up the track to the next dwelling. Look out for the fork in the road and the Gelli sign on the gate to mark the entrance, a minute or so before the postcode centre. 

Public transport

For the most accurate public transport directions please use Google maps's transit directions feature and type "Mokshavana" as the destination.

Train with a long taxi

The nearest train station is Machynellth. This line is connected to Birmingham for London and the rest of the UK. A direct taxi from Machynellth is around £40 and supermarkets are available near the station if you want to do a shop before getting a taxi. 

Train with a bus to Dolgellau and a short taxi / walk 

Most people travel by train to Wrexham, Ruabon or Machynellth and then get the longer distance buses to Dolgellau. E.g. the T3 from Ruabon is frequent and goes to Dolgellau. Once on the T3 you can get off the bus on the main road at the "Bont Newydd" bus stop for a 30 minute uphill walk or carry on to Dolgellau and get a short taxi from there. In Dolgellau there is a large Coop supermarket (see taxi information above).

Buses to the doorstep from Dolgellau

Once in Dolgellau you can catch an infrequent local bus (33) which you can request to stop right outside the cottage (be sure to use maps on your phone to tell the driver where to stop). Click here to see the timetable.
